Wired Guide: Kick & Mute Users

Introduction:

Giving kick and mute powers to just anybody can sometimes be a hassle, and from a rights management perspective it can also be a liability. The following guide will show you how to Kick and Mute users from a room using only wired. The set-up in this guide is for a command chair for utilizing the kick and mute, and a toggle switch to select between either kicking or muting a user. All the person in the command chair has is just by click the user who they want to moderate. You are free to customize this set up as needed for your own needs.

What you Need:

1x Chair
1xTwo-state toggleable furni

1x Wired Variable: User Variable
2x Wired Trigger: User Clicks User
2x Wired Trigger: User Says Keyword
1: Wired Effect: Kick User
1x Wired Effect: Give Variable
1x Wired Effect: Remove Variable
2x Wired Condition: Triggering User is on Furni
2x Wired Condition: Furni States and Positions Match
2x Wired Condition: Has Variable
1x Wired Condition: Variable Age

Room Set Up
Step 1

A. Place down the Wired Variable: User Variable

B. Double click on the Wired Variable: User Variable. Name the variable whatever you desire (it will be used to activate muting, so something along those lines will do) and make sure to check the availability option: Permanent to ensure that if the user leaves the room they will still be muted when they come back. Click Ready to save the changes made.

Step 2

A. Stack 1x Trigger: User Clicks User, 1x Condition: Triggering User is on Furni, 1x Condition: Furni States and Positions Match, and 1x Effect: Kick User

B. The Trigger: User Clicks User does not need to be modified. Double click the Condition: Triggering User is on Furni and select the chair that you wish the user using kick/mute powers to sit on. Click Ready to save the changes

Step 3

A. Double click the Condition: Furni States and Position. Select the togglable furni that will be used to select between kicking vs. muting, and set it to the position you want it to be in to activate the kick effect. Select the Current furni state criteria. Click Ready to save the changes made.

B. Double click the Effect: Kick User. Add an optional message if you would like to tell the kicked user why they were kicked from the room. Make sure that the source: The clicked user is selected for users source. Click Ready to save changes. Once this is done, you have now completed the wired needed to kick users from a room.

Step 4

A. Stack 1x Trigger: User Clicks User, 1x Condition: Triggering User is on Furni, 1x Condition: Furni States and Positions Match, and 1x Effect: Give Variable.

B. Repeat steps 2a through 3a for this wired stack. When you get to Step 3a, make sure your togglable furni is in the position you want it to be to activate the mute effect. This should be the opposite state of the kick effect wired stack.

Step 5

Double click the Effect: Give Variable. For the variable, choose the variable that we created in Step 1b. For the variable destination, make sure to select the clicked user. Click Ready to save the changes made.

Step 6

A. Stack 1x Trigger: User Says Keyword and 1x Condition: Has Variable

B. Double click the Trigger: User Says Keyword. Leave the What is said section blank. Select the Match all text option in choose type. Make sure that Hide the triggerer’s message is selected. Click Ready to save changes made.

C. Double click the Conditon: Has Variable. Select the variable we created in Step 1b. Make sure the variable source is selecting Use the triggering user. Click Ready to save changes.

Step 7

A. Stack 1x Trigger: User Says Keyword, 1x Condition: Has Variable, 1x Condition: Variable Age and 1x Effect: Remove Variable

B. Repeat Steps 7b and 7c for this new wired stack.

Step 8

A. Double click the Condition: Variable Age. For the variable, select the variable we made in Step 1b. For type, select Higher Than. For Select time, you may choose any time you wish and there are multiple options ranging from milliseconds to years. The time you select is how long the mute will last on the user. For this guide, I decided on 10 minutes. Make sure the variable source is the triggering user. Click Ready to save the changes made.

B. Double click the Effect: Remove Variable. For the variable, select the variable we created in Step 1b. Make sure the Variable source is triggering user. Click Ready to save the changes made. One you have completed this step, you will have a command chair that allows the user sitting on the chair to kick users and temporarily mute them.
