Game Guide: FREEZE!

Written By: zack436 / Graphic By: zack436

What is FREEZE?

FREEZE! is a brand new game that you can make in your own room! You can play this game with 4 teams with up to five players each.

The purpose of the game is simple: FREEZE! the other players without being frozen yourself. You do this by placing an exploding Snowball on a FREEZE tile. You do this by double clicking on a tile after which you throw a snowball in the air that will explode in a big blizzard when it hits the ground. Every Habbo in its path will be frozen, so make sure you run away from your own Snowball as well! You can also blow up the FREEZE Blocks, which contain various power-ups like special Snowballs, extra lives, a shield and more to give yourself an edge over your competitors.

Each player has three lives (the number will hover above your head after the game starts and after losing a life) and if your lives reach zero you will be teleported to the Exit Tile and be out of the game. The team that earned the most points and is the last one standing will win!

How to build a FREEZE

Building a freeze arena in your own room is easy to do.

1.  Place a lot of Freeze Tiles on the floor in the arena.  If you want it in a specific shape instead of a traditional rectangle arena, go for it!

2. Place some Freeze Ice Blocks on top of the freeze tiles.  You want it to be ½ to ¾ covered with Ice blocks.  You can set up a specific design with those blocks to make it more challenging.

3. Place a border around the arena, leaving room for you to place the Freeze Gates.  It is recommended that you have one of each color.

4. Place an exit tile somewhere in the room, outside of the arena.

5. If you want to see your scores, you can put down a Freeze Scoreboard of the team color so you can review the scores at the end of the battle.

6. Place a timer in the room, next to your arena, as this is how you start the battle.  Adjust the timer by clicking the button to extend the time.  Double click the arrow button on the timer to start the countdown!  Happy gaming!

7. If you want to add a challenge, you can toss in some Freeze Geyser in the arena and it will make players have to go around it.

Powerups

Power-ups are essential if you want to survive in the game.  It is recommended that you collect them as you break blocks to give you an advantage over other players.

ImageNameWhat do they do?
Diagonal Power-UpWhen collected, your next shot will be in a diagonal.
Extend Shot Power-UpWhen collected, this powerup allows you to shoot farther, so collect lots of these powerups!
Snowball Power-UpWhen collected, this powerup allows you to throw 2 snowballs at once for the duration of the game!
Mega-Snowball Power-UpWhen collected, this powerup will make your next shot in all 8 directions, so move fast!
Shield Power-UpWhen collected, this powerup prevents you from getting damaged for a short period of time.
Heart Power-UpGain an extra life, with a maximum of 3 lives. When collected with full life, it won’t do anything to you.

How to play the game

The objective of the game is for a player to freeze their opponents and be the last person/team standing in the arena. The rules are simple; Habbos choose a team out of the colors available (which are Red, Blue, Green and Yellow) and then to defeat the opposing team/teams, Habbos must double click on the tile they are standing on to throw a snowball in the air. When the snowball returns to the tile, a freeze blast is shot from that position, freezing opponents in its way. Be wary of where you’re throwing from though, because the freeze blast can also freeze the player themselves – the attacker must get out of the way quickly to avoid it! To earn power-ups, players must smash the ice blocks by throwing a snowball near its position. Not all ice blocks have power-ups inside of them, but a large number will do in each game. Players have 3 lives and when those lives are up they are out. Players then continue to play like this until there is only one person/team standing: they are then considered to be the winner.
